How UPS works out the price
- Weight. Heavier boxes cost more. UPS takes packages up to 150 lb.
- Distance. UPS prices by how far apart the two ZIP codes are.
- Size. Large, light boxes are priced by dimensional weight when it's higher than the real weight: length × width × height ÷ 139 for the daily rates ShipGopher uses (UPS divides by 166 for its retail counter rates). A box can be up to 108 inches long and 165 inches in length plus girth.
- Speed. Ground Saver and Ground are the cheapest; 3 Day Select, 2nd Day Air and Next Day Air are faster and cost more.

Questions
Is this the price I'll pay?
It's ShipGopher's price right now for those ZIP codes and that box, including the $1 + 5% service fee. When you buy, the price is checked again with the full addresses before you pay, and if it changed you see both prices first.
Do I need a UPS account?
No, and no ShipGopher account either. Your email gets the label, receipt, tracking number and cancel link.
What's the biggest box UPS takes?
Up to 150 lb and 108 inches long, with length plus girth (the distance around the thickest part) up to 165 inches.
Do I need a printer?
Yes. UPS labels need to be printed and taped to the box. No printer? USPS labels come with a QR code a participating Post Office prints for you (how it works).
Where do I drop it off?
At The UPS Store or any UPS Access Point location. The label is already paid for, so you only hand over the box.
