Do I need an account?
No. Enter the addresses and the package size, pay, and get your label. There is nothing to sign up for.
How much does it cost?
You pay the carrier's online postage rate plus a service fee of $1 + 5% of the postage. You see the total before you pay. For example, $8.16 of postage costs $9.57 in total.
Is it cheaper than the post office?
Yes, usually by a lot. USPS Ground Advantage costs up to 50% less than the post office counter price. For example, a 10 lb box from Los Angeles to New York is $40.85 at the counter and $20.37 with ShipGopher. Priority Mail Express costs about the same either way.
Is it cheaper than shipping at UPS?
Much cheaper. UPS Ground through ShipGopher costs up to 70% less than UPS's retail price. For example, a 5 lb box from Phoenix to Chicago is $58.61 at UPS retail and $16.24 with ShipGopher.
How is ShipGopher different from Pirate Ship?
The postage is the same. Pirate Ship is free but requires an account and doesn't offer FedEx. ShipGopher needs no account, offers FedEx, and adds a small service fee.
Which carriers can I use?
USPS, UPS and FedEx, compared side by side in one quote.
How do I pay?
Apple Pay, Cash App Pay, or a credit or debit card. Stripe processes every payment; ShipGopher never sees or stores your card number.
Do I need a printer?
No, for USPS. After you buy a USPS label you get a QR code: show it at any Post Office counter and they print the label for you. You can also print it at home.
Where do I drop off my package?
At any location of the carrier you chose: a Post Office for USPS, a UPS Store or UPS Access Point for UPS, or a FedEx location for FedEx.
How do I get my label?
It appears on screen right after you pay, and we email it to you with a link to open it again any time.
Can I cancel a label?
Yes. Use the cancel link in your label email before the package is scanned. You're refunded in full once the carrier confirms the label wasn't used.
How do I track my package?
Your label email includes the tracking number and a tracking link, and you can track any time on the Track page.
What if my package weighs more than I entered?
The carrier may bill the difference, and we charge it to the card you paid with. Weigh and measure carefully to avoid it.
How do I measure my package?
Weigh it, then measure the length, width and height in inches, rounding up to the next whole inch.
Can I ship internationally?
Not yet. ShipGopher ships within the United States.
