What decides the cheapest carrier
- Weight. Under about 5 lb, USPS Ground Advantage is usually cheapest.
- Size. Big, light boxes are priced by size (dimensional weight). In the 20 lb, 18×18×12 inch example, USPS costs almost three times as much as UPS or FedEx.
- Distance and speed. Prices rise with distance, but not equally for every carrier, and faster services cost more with all three.

Questions
Is this the price I'll pay?
It's ShipGopher's price right now for those ZIP codes and that box, including the $1 + 5% service fee. When you buy, the price is checked again with the full addresses before you pay, and if it changed you see both prices first.
Which carrier is cheapest?
It depends on the box. USPS is usually cheapest for light packages, UPS Ground Saver often wins around 10 lb, and for big, light boxes UPS or FedEx can cost a third of USPS because of how USPS prices size. The calculator checks all three for your box.
Why compare here instead of on UPS, FedEx or USPS?
Each carrier's own calculator only shows its own prices. This one shows all three side by side at discounted rates, so you can see the cheapest and the fastest at once.
Do I need an account?
No. Not with the carriers and not with ShipGopher. Your email gets the label, receipt, tracking number and cancel link.
Is this a postage calculator for letters?
No, it's for packages. Letters and flat envelopes go with stamps; USPS's postage calculator covers those.
