How FedEx works out the price
- Weight. Heavier boxes cost more. FedEx takes packages up to 150 lb.
- Distance. FedEx prices by how far apart the two ZIP codes are.
- Size. Large, light boxes are priced by dimensional weight when it's higher than the real weight: length × width × height ÷ 139, with each side rounded to the nearest whole inch. Ground and Home Delivery boxes can be up to 108 inches long and 165 inches in length plus girth.
- Speed. Ground Economy and Home Delivery are the cheapest; Express Saver, 2Day and Overnight are faster and cost more.
